GiDomus arrives on Olot TV with an interview with Manel Pretel and Jordi Güell

The GiDomus project takes a step further in bringing itself closer to the public. On 13 March, Manel Pretel, coordinator of the GiDomus project, and Jordi Güell, trustee of the Europace Foundation, were the special guests on the programme La Finestra on Olot TV, where they explained the direction the project is taking and how it is working to accelerate and promote the energy refurbishment of residential buildings.

During the interview, the focus was on the evolution of the project and the actions being promoted to accelerate the energy refurbishment of the residential building stock, one of the major challenges of the energy transition.

In this regard, Manel Pretel highlighted that GiDomus offers a comprehensive vision to families:

“At GiDomus we provide a broad overview to families, carrying out a pre-study where we identify potential improvements that will ultimately translate into real benefits in terms of energy efficiency.”

He also emphasised the key role of Europe in this process:

“Europe has a very clear horizon, which implies accelerating and multiplying the pace of refurbishment to identify the properties that need these improvements.”

For his part, Jordi Güell emphasised the direct impact of the energy transition on people’s lives:

“Energy transition is necessary, not only for environmental reasons, but also to improve the quality of life in homes and make them healthier.”

      Scaling energy refurbishment in Girona

GiDomus is working to scale the Domus energy refurbishment programme in the province of Girona through a self-sustainable model, with innovative financing and intersectoral collaboration. The project adopts an integral support mechanism that aims to:

      • Raise awareness among the public
      • Streamline and simplify refurbishment processes
      • Boost the local economy
      • Train professionals and create synergies with existing support initiatives

The main objectives of GiDomus include:

      • Developing a self-sustainable financing model, combining different private financing options with public collaboration
      • Working on key aspects such as professional training and social inclusion, addressing energy poverty and promoting gender equality

With this participation on Olot TV, GiDomus reinforces its commitment to the energy transition and the promotion of a refurbishment model with a real impact on the public.
