GiDomus is about to begin its first phase of expansion with the opening offour one-stop offices in the regions of Gironès, Pla de l'Estany, Garrotxa, and Ripollès/Cerdanya. The goal is to advise more than 75,000 families on energy-efficient renovations throughout the project.
These offices will serve as a contact point for citizens who want to improve the energy efficiency of their homes, marking a decisive step towards energy transition and the decarbonisation of the residential sector in the Girona region.
The opening of the offices is scheduled for October, with an institutional launch on 26th September, which will be attended by authorities and representatives from regional and national institutions.
A comprehensive and free service for citizens
GiDomus offers a free, personalised service to guide citizens through the entire energy renovation process. The aim is to improve the quality of life for over 75,000 families, renovating more than 15,000 homes and buildings, generating an investment of over €260 million, and reducing more than 11,000 tonnes of CO₂.
The project will be rolled out across 221 municipalities and will include 120 neighbourhood information sessions and over 20 awareness-raising events on the importance of renovation and energy transition.
An opportunity for sector professionals
To take advantage of the potential of energy renovation, GiDomus is focusing on collaboration with sector professionals. It has created the Professionals GiDomus platform, an online space that connects technicians with families interested in
renovating their homes, boosting local economic activity and the sector's
skills development.
In July, in collaboration with regional institutions, several informational webinars were held for professionals, explaining how the programme works, how the platform operates, and the benefits of joining the GiDomus Professionals’ Register.
A collaborative project with strategic partners
The driving team has worked hard to optimise the operations of the offices. One of the key aspects is the incorporation of Energy Savings Certificates (CAE), led by IREC, which will allow property owners to receive financial compensation for the energy savings they generate.
Additionally, Ecoserveis is driving the integration of vulnerability protocols to ensure access for people in vulnerable situations. The project also incorporates innovative financing models, such as crowdlending through Ecrowd, and other alternative proposals designed with Up Social, which allow the offices to be financed and the service to remain free for families.
Meanwhile, the Catalan Energy Cluster is a key strategic partner in this phase of GiDomus' expansion and the promotion of its model.
A one-stop service with real impact on decarbonisation and urban regeneration
GiDomus not only accelerates energyrenovation, but also contributes to local economic development and the decarbonisation of cities. Through its one-stop service model, it provides citizens with integrated solutions to improve the efficiency of their homes, reduce energy bills, and tackle climate change.
With the imminent opening of the offices, GiDomus is positioning itself as a key player in the energy transition in the Girona region: an opportunity to transform homes, generate employment, and build a more sustainable and inclusive future.
