The European project promotes a pioneering model in the Girona region to facilitate the energy transition in households
A few weeks ago, GiDomus was officially presented — a pioneering project that aims to make home energy renovation easy and accessible across the Girona region. The initiative was born out of the desire to bring the energy transition closer to citizens and to drive real change in the way buildings are constructed, managed and renovated.
During the launch event, representatives from institutions, experts and organisations in the sector agreed on the importance of offering a comprehensive and free support model to help families and homeowners’ associations improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

A project to transform the energy model
GiDomus is much more than a programme: it represents a new way of understanding energy renovation, connecting citizens, professionals and administrations to activate projects with social, economic and environmental impact.
The project marks only the beginning of a new stage that aims to establish itself as a benchmark model in Catalonia and Europe, with three key pillars:
Scalability and inspiration. Born in the Girona region with the ambition to serve as a model for other territories.
Territorial network. Creates connections between knowledge, innovation and commitment to transform the energy model through buildings.
Proximity. The first GiDomus offices have already opened in Gironès, Pla de l’Estany, Ripollès and Garrotxa, where citizens can obtain information, receive advice and start their energy renovation process.
Soon, the project will continue to expand into new counties and offer new tools for citizens and professionals who want to take an active part in the energy transition.
