The project highlights the role of municipalities and collaboration between stakeholders in promoting energy renovation of buildings and moving towards a more sustainable local energy transition.
On 16 September, GiDomus participated in the first edition of the Municipalities Forum, organised by Diari de Girona and Prensa Ibérica at the Auditori Palau de Congressos in Girona. The event brought together representatives from local government, institutions and the private sector to discuss the main challenges facing municipalities and share experiences and potential solutions.
The event was attended by municipal representatives from Girona, Olot, Figueres, Banyoles, Lloret de Mar, Roses, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, L’Escala, Camprodon, and Calonge i Sant Antoni, as well as representatives from the Government of Catalonia, the Girona Provincial Council and various private sector organisations.
Housing and Sustainability Among the Key Challenges Facing Local Governments
Throughout the various panel discussions, participants addressed issues such as housing, mobility, urban planning, sustainability, public services, security and public-private collaboration. These areas present significant challenges for municipalities and require the involvement of different stakeholders to find solutions tailored to the needs of each territory.
GiDomus Supports Homeowners' Associations in Promoting Energy Renovation
GiDomus works to facilitate energy renovation processes in residential buildings across the Girona region, supporting homeowners' associations and helping them overcome the technical, administrative and financial barriers that can hinder these projects. The initiative pays particular attention to vulnerable communities, helping to make energy renovation more accessible.
Participating in discussion forums such as the Municipalities Forum provides an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the needs and priorities of the region, while highlighting the importance of collaboration between different stakeholders in addressing shared challenges, such as improving the residential building stock and advancing the local energy transition.
