On 1 July, the GiDomus team presented its pilot for the energy renovation of multi-family residential buildings in Ripoll during an information session aimed at owners' associations and property managers.
Held at Ripoll Town Hall, the session brought together around fifteen participants and provided an opportunity to explain how the initiative will work. The pilot is due to be officially launched at the end of September across several municipalities in the province of Girona. As explained by Ripoll Town Hall in a news article published on its website, the pilot aims to facilitate and accelerate energy renovation projects in residential buildings.
The pilot will select between 5 and 10 owners' associations, which will receive a free, comprehensive support service throughout the entire energy renovation process. This support includes tailored advice, technical guidance, assistance in identifying available grants and financial incentives, support with grant applications, and guidance through to the implementation of the renovation works.
One of the pilot's key features is the use of the Building Technical Inspection (ITE) as an opportunity to promote energy improvement measures. Integrating these improvements when owners' associations are already assessing their building's condition makes it possible to reduce energy consumption, improve residents' comfort, increase property value and facilitate access to available funding.
The session also highlighted the strategic role of property managers in identifying suitable owners' associations and supporting them throughout the process. Their in-depth knowledge of each building enables them to identify communities that are planning refurbishment works and are well placed to take part in the pilot.
Following this first information session, participating owners' associations will be confirmed during July, with the aim of launching the pilot at the end of September through the first personalised advisory meetings.
Bringing the pilot to municipalities across the Girona region
The session in Ripoll forms part of a wider programme of presentations being delivered across the municipalities taking part in the project. In recent weeks, we also presented the pilot in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, and over the coming weeks we will continue with further information sessions in:
- Platja d'Aro (8 July)
- Figueres i l'Escala (9 July)
- Besalú (15 July)
- Sant Feliu de Guíxols (16 July)
- Salt (17 July)
- Celrà (27 July)
These sessions aim to raise awareness of the pilot, answer questions and identify new owners' associations interested in taking part in an initiative designed to accelerate the energy renovation of residential buildings across the Girona region.
