Last Friday, GiDomus took part in the webinar “Energy Transition Offices and Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs)”, organized by the Clúster de l’Energia Eficient de Catalunya and INNOVACC. The session brought together experts and representatives from various fields linked to the energy transition and the rollout of the Energy Savings Certificates system in Catalonia. The project was represented by Manel Pretel-Wilson, coordinator of the European LIFE-GiDomus project, who presented the evolution of the initiative and its role as a pioneering model to facilitate the energy renovation of thousands of homes.
During his presentation, Pretel-Wilson explained how GiDomus has established itself as a “one-stop shop” that supports citizens throughout the entire energy renovation process, from diagnosing needs to implementing measures with technical, administrative, and financial support. He highlighted that the project represents a real opportunity to accelerate the renovation of the residential building stock and bring the energy transition closer to households in an accessible, reliable, and secure way.
The session also created a space for dialogue with leading professionals in the field of Energy Savings Certificates. Participants included César de Cara (ICAEN), technician at the Energy Management Division; Romain Descournut (Dyneff), head of the ESC department; Álvaro Tallón (Leyton), energy consultant; and Isabel Tejero Fernández (Effic), Director of Energy Consulting and ESCs. Their contributions provided a comprehensive overview of how the system works and the role played by the different stakeholders, highlighting the potential of ESCs to promote energy-saving actions in homes and communities.
GiDomus’s participation in the webinar reinforces the project’s commitment to outreach and collaboration between public and private stakeholders to promote energy renovation throughout the territory. In this regard, Pretel-Wilson emphasized that “bringing energy renovation closer to citizens is essential to generate a real impact on thousands of homes and move towards a more sustainable and efficient domestic model.” With this new institutional participation, GiDomus continues to consolidate itself as a transformative initiative in the residential sector, aligned with European decarbonization objectives and with the aim of making it easier for more households to access solutions that improve comfort, reduce energy consumption, and contribute to the fight against climate change.
